A platform that is too low, too narrow or poorly positioned slows the renderer down, affects the quality of the finish and increases the risk of fatigue and error. Scaffolding for Every Render System
Different render systems have different access requirements. We discuss the system being used at the quotation stage so the scaffold is designed to suit it from the outset.
K-Render & Monocouche
K-render and monocouche are through-coloured, single-coat systems applied by hand or machine. They require a stable, level platform at the correct height for the renderer to apply and scratch the material in one continuous pass. We position platforms to allow the renderer to work in horizontal bands without repositioning ladders or overreaching.
Silicone & Acrylic Render
Silicone and acrylic renders are typically applied as a finish coat over a base coat or EWI system. They require a clean, stable platform and protection from contamination from above. We provide debris netting and sheeting where required to protect the finished surface during and after application.
External Wall Insulation (EWI)
EWI systems involve fixing insulation boards to the external wall, applying a base coat and mesh, and finishing with a render or silicone coat. The scaffold needs to support the weight of the insulation boards and give the installer access to fix them at the correct height. We provide loading bays and wide platforms for EWI installations.
Sand & Cement Render
Traditional sand and cement render is heavy and requires a stable platform that can support the weight of the material and the operative. We provide five-board platforms and loading bays for sand and cement rendering jobs.
Lime Render
Lime render is used on older and period properties. It requires careful application in thin coats and a scaffold that gives the renderer close, stable access to the wall surface. We have experience of scaffolding lime render projects on period properties across Kent.
Pebbledash & Roughcast
Pebbledash and roughcast finishes require a stable platform at the correct height and protection of surrounding areas from overspray and falling aggregate. We position platforms and provide debris netting to contain the material and protect the areas below.
Platform Design for Rendering Work
The platform height for rendering is critical. The renderer needs to apply material at a comfortable working height and reach up to the soffit without overreaching. We position the first platform to suit the ground-floor elevation and add lifts at the correct intervals for the renderer to work efficiently up the building. Platforms are five boards wide as standard for rendering work.

Whole-House Re-Rendering
Complete re-rendering of all elevations of a domestic property. We provide scaffolding that covers all elevations where required, with platforms at the correct height for each face and loading bays positioned to suit the site. Rear, Side & Gable Elevations
Rear and side elevations, gable ends and awkward corners that cannot be reached from a ladder. We design the scaffold to give the renderer safe, continuous access to every part of the elevation, including gable peaks and areas above extensions.
Extensions & New Build
New extensions being rendered to match the existing property. We provide scaffolding that covers the extension elevations and, where required, the junction with the existing building. Often combined with the main build scaffold to keep the programme efficient.
EWI Installations
External wall insulation systems on domestic and commercial properties. We provide scaffolding designed to support the EWI installation process, with loading bays for board delivery and wide platforms for the installer.
Commercial Buildings & Apartment Blocks
Larger rendering projects on commercial buildings, apartment blocks and public sector properties. We have the capacity and accreditation to work on principal contractor sites and provide scaffolding designed to the structural drawings.
Render Repairs & Patch Work
Localised render repairs, patch work and re-coating on properties where only part of the elevation needs attention. We provide the minimum scaffold required to give the renderer safe access to the affected area without erecting a full-perimeter structure where it is not needed.
